Youth Movement Board

Pictured below are the members of Youth Empowerment and Strength's board - those voices who are adding to our movement, who are contributing their efforts to justice and leading the effort to combat youth violence around local communities.
Kyle Lee, Founder

Kyle is a student at La Canada High School and the founder of Pasadena's Youth Empowerment and Strength group. Working to expand and develop the voices of youth in the community of Pasadena, Kyle is excited to be a young organizer who will help to begin and extend upon the conversation of youth violence in Pasadena.

Joanna Escobar, Leader

Joanna (also known as Jojo) is a student at Marshall High School and a leader of Pasadena's Youth Empowerment and Strength group. As an advocate for youth, she hopes to empower others youth to be able to use their voice when violence in any form is targeted against them.

Christopher Silva, Leader

Christopher is a student at Blair High School and a leader of Pasadena's Youth Empowerment and Strength group. Chris wishes to help other people be the best that they can be because, as he says, by helping others, you yourself can become a better person.

Joshua Ng, Leader

Joshua is a student at La Salle High School and a leader of Pasadena's Youth Empowerment and Strength group. Joshua is excited to be a part of this youth group and can't wait to see what is in store. He understands the importance of the voice of youth, and is happy to be a part of a group that utilizes this voice.

Florence Annang, Advisor

Miss Florence Annang is the founder and Director of Thrive Learning Lab, an After School and Summer Camp Programs  in NW Pasadena. She has a passion for Christian Community Development and how God's Word invested through time in relationships can truly transform youth and families for real healing to take place with grace. She is an executive member of the NAACP Pasadena branch, an organizer for NDLON in Pasadena, and a board member of Pasadena’s Organizing for Progress (POP).
